COURSES AND TRAINING
Terms between Karen Griffiths and Student booking and/or undertaking and/or attending a course
Karen Griffiths is referred to as ‘I’, ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’, ‘ourselves’, ‘tutor’
You, ‘the student’ is referred to as ‘student’, ‘students’, ‘the student’, ‘the students’, ‘you’, ‘your’, ‘yours’, ‘therapist’, ‘yourself’, ‘person’
We reserve the right to refuse acceptance of any course application without explanation of reasons. In this case a full refund will be made of any monies paid.
All student information will be confidential and will not be disclosed to other parties.
It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the courses applied for are suitable for your requirements and that you have the pre-requisite qualifications and the competence to be able to achieve the objectives of this course.
It is your responsibility to check that your insurance and/or professional body will cover you for the course/courses you propose to undertake. In the case of those who already have an insurance policy and/or professional body membership in place, it is your responsibility to check that the course you wish to undertake is accepted by them for insurance and/or membership purposes and that you will be able to add the proposed course onto your existing insurance policy/professional body.
REFUND POLICY
A full refund will be offered less the cost of any supporting training materials that have already been despatched (books, DVDs, kits etc) on any training course order that is cancelled within 7 days providing the student has not started the first theory module of the course. Students may cancel the course up to 28 days after ordering provided they have not completed the first theory training module of the course. The refund available in this case is 75% of the cost of the course less the cost of any supporting training material that has already been despatched (books, DVDs, Kits etc) After 28 days of the order, or once students have successfully completed the first theory training module and started the second theory training module, whichever is the soonest, no refund is available.
Outside of the above refund policy, All deposits and full course payments are STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON TRANSFERABLE. In the event of you being unable to attend a practical course day we appreciate as much notice as possible and will offer an alternative date where possible. Should the practical day you are unable to attend be taking place at a location other than Plymouth, then the alternative practical day will have to be taken in Plymouth
PRACTICAL DAYS
We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule or change the location of any practical course days. In this unlikely event, we will offer you an alternative course date.
In the event of you being unable to attend a practical course day we appreciate as much notice as possible and will offer an alternative date where possible. Should the practical day you are unable to attend be taking place at a location other than Plymouth, then the alternative practical day will have to be taken in Plymouth
Medical Conditions - Unless a One-to-One practical day is booked, all students will be required to give and receive treatments. It is therefore important that any medical conditions are advised at the time of booking. Should you suffer from any medical conditions that would result in you being unable to receive a treatment, arrangements will either be made so that you do not have to receive a treatment, or a one-to-one practical day will be offered. Should your medical details change once you have booked and paid for the course, please let us know straight away.
ATTENDING THE PRACTICAL DAY
Do not drink alcohol 48 hours before the course as you will be dehydrated.
Any student considered to be suffering the effects of alcohol or illegal drugs will not be admitted to the practical day. In this event, no refund will be given
Any student considered not well enough when they arrive to take part in the practical day through for example illness, will not be allowed to undertake the practical day, but we will do our best to offer you an alternative date for when you are better.
You will be expected to turn up on time for the course, the tutor is generally available for up to 20 minutes prior to the course start time.
Please wear comfortable clothing and flat comfortable shoes. Short nails will be required for treatments than involve body treatments
Should you not have emailed/forwarded copies of previous qualifications that are a requisite for your course, then please bring photocopies with you on your practical day.
We accept no responsibility for items left by yourself at the course premises. We will however do our upmost to reunite you with your property, and any expenses incurred by ourselves would have to be met by the student
We accept no liability for injury or loss to person or property throughout
We hold no responsibility for damage caused by you to another person after you have received your training.
OTHER TERMS
A reasonable standard of written and verbal English is required to undertake all courses.
Courses should be completed within 6 months, although an extension can be applied for but there is no guarantee that an extension will be available.
In addition to the course fee there is a £25 fee to join the Guild if you do not already belong
Courses are available to students with a disability. Please advise us prior to booking to inform us of any disability which may affect your undertaking and completion of your chosen course.
Certificates are given out to students who have shown competence throughout the course. However we have the right to withhold the certificate if the tutor deems the student to not have reached a competent standard. In this case a further training day can be arranged at extra cost
After completion and passing of all elements of the course, it is expected that each therapist practices at least 6-10 times before taking payment and advertising for clients.
To practice the therapy that you have just studied with ourselves, valid insurance is needed.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Karen Griffiths accepts no responsibility for any direct or indirect loss or damage, foreseeable or otherwise, including any indirect, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from the use of this website, any information contained therein and for any consequences directly or indirectly from the booking, undertaking or attending of any course or workshop advertised on this website and/or offered by Karen Griffiths or employees or appointed person/s of Karen Griffiths
This course is taught to a high standard throughout, it does not diagnose medical conditions and should not be treated as a substitute for medical care. Contraindications and benefits are discussed as part of the course but are not intended to represent medical advice, nor be deemed as a treatment to cure or prevent disease.
